What's for dinner next week? It's all about barbecue season & warmer weather

We're eating cilantro lime steak, paleo potato salad, homemade Chick-fil-A sauce & mango sorbet

Happy Thursday ,

/

This might be one of my favorite weeks of the year.

We celebrated St. Patrick's Day over the weekend; Tuesday was the first day of spring (even though it snowed by me yesterday 🤦‍♂️), March Madness kicks off today & summer feels right around the corner.

I’m thinking about the warm weather ahead & I know you are too.

Earlier this week, on Instagram, I shared a story asking you what types of recipes you wanted to see more of this year. And I heard the same thing over and over and over.

👇👇👇👇👇

“I want more healthy spring & summer recipes.”

“Foods that I can eat at a cook-out”

“Healthy & lighter salads”

“Healthy foods for the upcoming warm weather”

“Food to help me get in shape for the summer”

So, this week’s newsletter is dedicated to foods for the summer. Recipes that I’d be excited to bring to a cookout. Recipes that I can cook outside on the grill. Recipes that are heavily based on local ingredients.

I want to create more recipes that you’ll love. Vote below to tell me which of the following recipes I should share next week on TikTok, Instagram & YouTube!

What’s For Dinner? Cilantro Lime Flank Steak

Flank steak is one of my favorite grilling meats.

It’s affordable, absorbs marinades exceptionally well & is highly adaptable. It works great in tacos, on sandwiches, on top of salads & as a fridge-ready cold leftover.

But if you cook it wrong, it can be tough, chewy, and a big party letdown.

This recipe is easy, has minimal prep time, and you can’t mess it up. The flavors work well as a standalone dish, as a protein for a Mexican dish, or as a compliment to a summer barbecue.

It also works exceptionally well as a meal-prep, lasts in the fridge, and is a recipe that you can prep, cook & eat on a busy weeknight.

What’s For Dinner? Healthy Chick-fil-a Sauce

A good barbecue needs good sauces. One of the top sauces out there is the original Chick-fil-A sauce.

However, one teaspoon of the original sauce has 140 calories, is full of sugars and 13 grams of fats & loaded with processed chemicals.

This recipe? It has 25 calories in the same serving size and 3 grams of protein per teaspoon.

Not to mention, you can eat this sauce on Sunday.

What’s for Dinner? Paleo Loaded Baked Potato Salad

It’s not just the sauces - a good barbecue needs quality side dishes. Honestly, they’re probably more important than the main dishes.

This paleo-, oaded baked potato salad will be the star of your next barbecue. It’s the perfect combination of flavors & textures to compliment your main dishes, and your guests will 100% be asking for you to share your recipe.

The star of the dish? It’s the homemade paleo ranch dressing that you can make in minutes. It’s healthier, more flavorful & cheaper than the store-bought stuff.

What’s for Dessert: Mango Sorbet

Summer is officially ice cream season.

And if the weather is above 75 degrees, I’m going to want to end my night with a cold, creamy, frozen treat.

This recipe has ONE ingredient & couldn’t be easier to make. And while it tastes exactly like store-bought sorbet - it has NO ADDED SUGAR and is 200 calories less than the processed version - with 100% of the flavor.

So, that cookbook? Here’s how to get a free copy.

I’m officially launching my cookbook as an e-book the first week of April, and I want to give you a free copy.

Create any of my recipes, upload them as a video to TikTok or Instagram, tag me, and I’ll send you a code for a free download when I release my cookbook in less than two weeks.

I appreciate you,

Dan
